This 24×30 painting was completed around the same time as “Cafe Du Monde” and “Pirate’s Alley” were in the works. This piece took just over ten hours to complete, about the same amount of time as “Cafe Du Monde,” which is a testament to how hard of a time I had with that small painting. This painting was inspired by the awesome artist I met while wandering around the French Quarter. He was painting on the street with his studio assistant Abby. I started asking him some questions, because I couldn’t figure out what he was painting on, which happened to be a large piece of styrofoam. He then showed me around his studio, every inch of space other than the walkway to get throught the studio was filled with his work. We talked for about an hour and he gave me some tips if I ever came back and wanted to try selling some of my work down there and even offered to store some of my work at his studio. The interaction was so New Orleans and made me love the city even more than I already did, if thats even possible.
